Had alot of thoughts these few days

Salams and good day to everyone :)

Well i did came back from my village about 3 days ago and started up again my car rendering but i had alot to think. One of my thoughts are I must redefines my design understanding and into a much serious way of thinking when characterizing my car designs, it might rite now seems quite alot of influences from popular car design language and what the market is referring as a good product sales aka just like im doing a market analysis but on design understanding and this bothers me because I think that im going astray far from 'influence understanding' to just a refined copy rather a fresh idea. i also thinks this is what happen when im too much focusing on production concept ideas rather than a totaly sky blue concept idea.
but i still do love doing these production alike concept rendering and design because it gave me a sense of logic thinking how would this car produced and on what limitation does the car company have. For the time being im focused on Proton's design language that is appears to be on the Tuah Concept and Emas Concept last year. I used alot of the design cues and merge it with my strong likeness on the Audi and VW designs, but i also took many influence and info from the hyundai and Kia emerging market sales.

well this thoughts makes me redesign and refined a few of my upcoming rendering. well here are some what i had done these few days :)

again its refined again..and again..but this is the final lineart for it.

in this pic i am highlighting a few of curves, strokes and design that i am really focusing and trying to birth into a design such as this.

some rough sketch or doodles..i sucks at rims..need to do much more practice on that :">

ok..i think thats all :)

leave a comment if u care ok :P

ok..wasalams semua ^_^!

Yeah! The Audi A1 enters Malaysia at RM180k!

Salams and good evening everyone :D

Why there is such a posting like this? its because i love the design and the design package of the Audi A1 and im glad it is been offered in Malaysia. For further details you can read it at Paul Tan's Automotive Blog . Below is the A1 model that is being introduced by EuroMobil.

So let me tell you guys abit about this car and what do i really love about it beside the technical engineering spec (engines, transmission and performance) which is among the best in its category and i consider this car a rocket pocket of fun to drive :D.

Firstly the car starts out as a concept car at Tokyo Motor Show in 2007 as the Audi metroproject quattro concept car supermini segment. The concept was on hybrid tech which plays with the Turbo FSI engine and an electrical motor. At the 2008 Leipzig Auto Mobil International show, Audi again presented the metroproject quattro, renamed the A1 project quattro. The vehicle was designed by Audi AG Project Designer in Exterior Design Dany Garand, who also presented the design during the car's Hong Kong debut.

So this is the concept car back in 2007. I just love the headlight design, the stunning iconic grill, the good proposition of lines and space, not forgetting the solid strong pillar design which is highlited in silver grey metal. (which got so many influence on my designs and rendering)

Later on, Audi still plays and tries to learn how the market/public reacted to their A1 concept which spurs the A1 Sportback concept in Paris Motor Show October 2008. The A1 Sportback concept is a restyled 5-door development of the metroproject quattro. Like the earlier concept, the A1 Sportback has a hybrid powertrain, with the same 1.4 L petrol engine and S-Tronic dual-clutch transmission, plus a 20 kW (27 bhp), 150 N•m electric motor. However the electric motor drives the front wheels, rather than the rear.

A1 Sportback concept which Audi tweak and refine those already superb design lines and focused more on the headlight design and its luxury lifestyle influence. The Rear Light design for this one is among the best in Audi Concepts Cars for me :). (look below)

So The Audi A1 (internally designated Typ 8X) is a supermini-class car launched by Audi at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. Sales of the initial three door A1 model started in Germany in August 2010, with the United Kingdom following in November 2010.The car is aimed mostly at young, affluent urban buyers.

In that launch comes the The Audi A1 e-tron concept car is an electric variant of the A1, first shown at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. The A1 e-tron is a series plug-in hybrid (PHEV), powered by an electric motor with a continuous output of 45 kW (61 PS; 60 bhp), and a peak output of 75 kW (102 PS; 101 bhp). A fully-charged 12 kWh lithium-ion battery gives a maximum range of 50 kilometres (31 mi), after which a 254 cc Wankel engine is used to power a 15 kW (20 PS; 20 bhp) generator with a 12 l (3.2 USgal) fuel tank. This is estimated to provide an additional range of 124 mi (200 km).A field testing programme of twenty A1 e-tron vehicles began in Munich in late 2010

The Audi E-Tron, an Electric Powered Variant. On the design they didnt change a thing except for the concept color and much cool lighted wheels, but inside that car there is a whole EV tech that would make the millennium falcon an ancient relic :P

Lastly after the A1 production model is marketed for a year, a much more sportier variant spurs from the concept of the Audi Quattro Project influence and tech. Thus In May 2011, the A1 clubsport quattro concept car was shown at the Wörthersee event. This car has a modified version of the Audi RS 3's 5-cylinder 2.5 L engine tuned to 503 PS (370 kW) and 660 N·m (487 lb·ft). Capable of 0–100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration in 3.7 seconds, the car also features a restyled exterior including "blister"-style extended wheelarches reminiscent of the Audi Quattro and minimal, lightweight interior trim.

Now feast your eyes on THE A1 Clubsport Quattro Concept!

Summary: i just love this car :D

Cuba-Cuba berVloging pula!

Salams dan selamat pagi buta untuk semua! :D

huhu..ini adalah vlog saya yang berbahasa melayu, sebenarnya hanya cuba-cuba namun tiada sambutan mana kerana mungkin tiada orang mahu mendengar bebelan atas perkara yang sebegitu skima. bagaimana pun jikalau anda minat mendengar saya membebel maka silalah tengok video ini yer :D

so..amacam? komen skit :P huhu ^_^!

Blog ini akan di teruskan dengan dwi-bahasa (this blog shall be using two language)

Salams dan selamat sejahtera Malaysia! :D

For english language users you always can use the google translator for easy reading ok.

My 3D stuff :)

Salams and Good Day to every one on earth!

Apart of being an industrial design designer we intent to have good skills both manual work and digital work, from that there is the technical part and CAD stuff that we do such as 3D model making using CAD softwares. Either it is just for visual or actual 3D data that can be used for drafting or manufacturing process (making molds, enhancing design) an industrial designer must have good sense of these technical part.

In my case i happen to stumble 3D CAD usage at early studies in Product Design Engineering SKM level 2 when i as 18. The software was i-DEAS which was use alot as CAE and CAD intention in manufacturing and simulation. back then all that i see with that software just numbers and technical 3D views like plants and engineering part, there was no actual nice realistic 3D rendering like nowadays.

Today i just use Rhino 3D as my technical 3D software and NewTek Lightwave 3D as my animation and rendering software. Thanks to my previous experience in 3D animation company, i learned alot of details in Lightwave 3D, what i liked about this software it is rendering output, its lighting tweaks and its surface manipulation. For me doing the animation part was very hard and i cant catch up with it especially with the technical part of it such as setting a bone for to move smoothly and the face expression controls.

Heres a few example of my 3D works that i had done :)

a buggy concept

a lounge chair design

rough idea of a bus-stop design

i tried to design an interior design...

a friends character design tribute :)

click this car image for a larger view (im trying out a script) lol :D btw this is also my design and rendering :D

My Character Concept Design

Salams and good nite everyone,

To tell the truth beside from designing cars or sketching them i also love to sketch and design characters for entertainment art. Beside from that i also have working experience in pre production for 3d animation production which i did a few concept art stuff like character design, art direction, environment design and storyboard.

so here a few artwork for this posting :D

among my earlier design for a character :)

Megatron redesign by me but the rendering/coloring is by my pergh.com friend Amykamen555 :D

a monster design, i tried to color it but i think it is bad :(

a monster design study :)

again my tries on coloring my characters :D

Nenek Kebayan redesign by me and the coloring is by AmyKamen555 :D

ok..i think thats all for now..later on i shall update more about this passion too :D

The Cross Compact Versatile Vehicle Interior Design

Salams and Goodnite to everyone :)

this is the The Cross Compact Versatile Vehicle interior design which created in 3D due to the time limitation. These rendering shows the basic usage and understanding of the interior. The electric power concept is not a too fancy idea because i was projecting a possible tech and design for the car to be produced in 5 years more time :). I also want to thank Hess Men or Man TZM for helping me with this :)

Malaysia Facebook Group Autostylista!

Salams and good nite everyone :D

facebooking is considered apart of our life rite now for those who are totaly linked their self and life to online internet stuff. well i am quite active in this group http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_194839123667&ap=1 called 'Autostylista' which is a local facebook group in Malaysia that focuses and interact with the local and global automotive styling info, news and designs. mostly of the members are design students who have high interest in automotive design and styling, some of them are my good colleges in UiTM.

well heres a few pics of the blog picture album showing the current car design battle http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=219544474732067 which is open for everyone, and some more pictures that the members uploads to the wall for design critics and info sharing :D

be free to join even u are not a Malaysian okey and this group is open for all even just to view the designs :D

My Final Transport Design Degree Project part 2 (model making)

Salams and good day to everyone on earth! and beyond! :D

The Cross Compact Versatile Vehicle

Here are some pics and my model making process during the time before assessment day. For this design project i am basicly using hi-density foam (which are used to control the cold temperature of big storage freezer in its walls) as its basic form, a wooden plank for its base and epoxy for the sculpturing and surfacing. The model im building is in 1:4 scale :)

setting the model making post. the foam i had already shaped it into the basic dimension of the design.

basic sculpturing is been done.

applying the emulsion paint for the base surfacing before epoxy is been applied.

applying 1st base epoxy layer which is very thick as i am used to hard surface modeling.

almost done with the whole surface to cover with epoxy.

now smoothing the hard epoxy with sand paper and other sculpting tools :)

fine micro soft putty is been applied to fills the small holes and making the surface much more smoother :)

spray paint grey surfacer is applied. (in the pic is Rangga who is helping me with the 1st layer, i used almost 3 cans for this job)

masking the DLO area after i had sprayed it flat black.

final colors are been sprayed :)

putting some detailing such as reflectors lights and parting lines.

now it awaits the judgment day!

well thats all i think for this process, there a few things i dont explained but this is the basic overall view how to make such a model like this. :) please ask if u had any question :)
